Hybrid congress [both from IPAG Abidjan and Nice campuses and online].

Currently, the African economies are at the crossroads of deep, multilevel transformations: ecological transitions, social inclusion/exclusion dynamics, and industrial and technological mutations. The present congress aims at embracing and connecting different perspectives - from economics and social sciences to law, management, and political science - to examine the key conditions for an inclusive and sustainable development in the African economies.

We encourage original, critical, and/or interdisciplinary contributions, as well as multi-level, systemic research addressing the African socio-economic context and focusing on:

  • The environmental and climate issues;

  • The social and territorial inequalities;

  • The cultural, linguistic, and/or religious factors as socio-economic development moderators  in African economies;

  • The industrial, technological, and digital changes and challenges ;

  • The energy decarbonization promises and challenges;

  • The postcolonial and decolonial perspectives;

  • The African financial markets forecasting and modeling,

  • The market microstructures in Africa;

  • the nowcast of African economies:

  • The contribution of financial innovations (crypto-currencies, blockchain, etc.) to face the sustainability challenges in African economies;

  • The green finance / socially responsible investment in relation to the challenges of sustainable development for African companies;

  • The main governance and managerial innovations in African businesses.
