For international students, there are a variety of places to study higher education. But every year, new students flock to join Paris business schools such as IPAG. But how can you apply for an English-speaking course at a typical Paris Business School, and once you’re there, how do you integrate as an international student?
In France, there’s a difference between a Grande Ecole and a public university, with Grande École's typically considered a higher standard of education as it’s private. According to the MESRI’s definition (Ministry of Higher Education and Research), a Grande École, or large school, is a “higher education establishment which recruits its students by competitive examination and provides high-level training”.
In the 18th century, the first French ‘Grande Écoles’ were created by the State to train administrative and military personnel. Until the 19th century, there were only eight, and mostly for engineers. Only at the end of the 20th century have Grande Écoles included management and business courses. Today, around forty business schools can claim this status of a “great French school”. And IPAG is one of them.
Student life and community life on campuses are an integral part of the university experience, especially as an international student. But where better to complete your degree than Paris? Paris is a great place for students and provides many opportunities for research, development, and a fun, cultural experience for students abroad. A large proportion of the cities' population are successful entrepreneurs, and it’s often considered one of the Best Student Cities due to its low tuition and affordable living costs. As a popular tourist destination, Paris has a lot to offer, which is why it’s a particularly good choice for international students who want to experience life in a major, multicultural European city.
Completing a degree at a Paris Business School is a great choice for international students for the lifestyle, cost, networking opportunities, and it’s accessibility for English-speaking, globally recognised qualifications. At a Grande École Business School such as IPAG, international students can gain personal and professional experience that will shape their career.
To apply at IPAG, you’ll first need to find your appropriate course, and then follow the steps to apply. This varies depending on the course and level of entry, but typically you’ll need to submit your email address and then follow the application process as instructed. But firstly, pick your perfect course and check the course entry requirements. Here is a full list of our Paris Business School’s English-speaking courses below:
