This 2-year higher education qualification enables you to acquire skills in management, communication and organisation that are highly valued by companies. But once you've graduated, there are several options open to you. Let's take a look at the different options available to help you build your professional future.
The BTS SAM gives access to a range of higher education courses. Continuing your studies is an interesting option for deepening your knowledge and specialising in a specific field.
The professional degree is particularly well suited to BTS SAM graduates. This one-year course enables students to obtain a degree at bac+3 level while specialising in a particular sector. Some of the professional bachelor's degrees available include:
The Bachelor Universitaire de Technologie (BUT) is another possible route. After your BTS SAM, you can go straight into the third year of a BUT, such as the Administrative and Commercial Management of Organisations (GACO) BUT or the Business and Administration Management (GEA) BUT.
General university degrees are also available, particularly in economics and management, economic and social administration (AES) and applied foreign languages (LEA). Admission is generally in the second year, after a study of your application.
Finally, bachelor's degrees from business schools lead to a bac+3 recognised by companies. These courses can be taken on a work-study course, offering significant professional experience.
The BTS SAM trains professionals who are immediately operational, making it easier for them to enter the job market. Your training will give you access to a wide range of jobs in many different sectors.
The skills you acquire during your BTS SAM are particularly sought after in companies' administrative departments. You could work as an executive assistant, sales assistant or office manager. These positions will enable you to put your project management, event organisation and communication skills into practice.
The human resources sector also offers interesting opportunities, with positions such as HR assistant or recruitment officer. Your knowledge of employment law and administrative management will be particularly appreciated.
Other opportunities exist in the fields of commerce, banking, real estate and tourism. The versatility of your training will enable you to adapt to different professional environments and types of company.
If you completed your BTS SAM under a work-stdy course, you will already have significant professional experience, which will be a major advantage in your job search.
Holders of a BTS SAM can also enter the civil service by taking the category B administrative entrance exams. These examinations are open to holders of a 2-year higher education diploma.
In particular, you can take the administrative secretary competition, which allows you to perform administrative duties in a ministry or government department such as a prefecture or rectorate. The territorial editor competition offers similar opportunities within local authorities.
Other competitive examinations are also available, such as clerk of the court or customs inspector. These careers will enable you to put your administrative management and organisational skills to good use.
You can prepare for administrative competitions yourself or through specific training courses offered by certain organisations.

Whether you choose to continue your studies, go straight into the professional world or take an administrative competitive examination, your BTS SAM offers you many possibilities.
