Programme
The Brevet de Technicien Supérieur (BTS) is a higher education diploma at Bac+2 level for which you can prepare the national exam in a CFA, a Lycée or a Business School. At the end of this training, you have two options: to enter working life or to continue your studies.
This BTS, specialising in communication, trains professionals with a versatile profile, capable of implementing all types of communication operations (advertising, events, relations, etc.) as soon as they graduate.
Particularly appreciated by recruiters, the BTS allows students to acquire professional experience since an internship is mandatory each year or that some business schools such as IPAG offer the possibility of following their entire BTS programme in a work-study program (professionalization or apprenticeship contract).
Once they have completed their training, graduates of a BTS in Communication can be recruited in various sectors of activity, by a company, a local authority or public organisation, a consultancy, advertising or communication agency, etc. Here are some of the professions that you can enter after a BTS Communication:
If the professional integration figures for this type of training are quite flattering, students who wish to continue their studies can do so, provided, of course, that they have a good academic record and even a mention in the final exam.
To acquire new skills, obtain a diploma at Bac+3 level or a double specialisation, you can join one of the many licences or professional licences that exist in the French university environment. There are ten or so fields that may be of particular interest to you: Visual Communication, Graphic Design, Culture, Multimedia, Advertising, Tourism, Marketing, Design...
Provided by private higher education establishments, the Bachelors (level Bac+3) give you the opportunity to specialise, after a fairly general BTS in Communication, in a particular field and to give yourself a more international profile. Depending on your career plans, you can, for example, specialise in Digital, Luxury Management or, why not, International Trade.
Finally, with a Bac+2 diploma such as the BTS, you can enter a Grande Ecole programme directly in the 3rd year. For this type of high-level course (Bac+5), admission is generally by exam and necessarily requires a solid application and serious preparation. If it is possible to enter a school such as IPAG in the 3rd year after a BTS, you can also do so in the 4th year after a Bachelor's degree, which can give you an extra year to improve your skills and better prepare for your further studies in PGE.
