Initiated by Professor Maria Giuseppina Bruna (Director of Research, Knowledge Transfer and Impact at IPAG Business School, and Director of the IPAG Chair Inclusive Enterprise) and Professor Maxime Menuet (Professor at Université Côte d’Azur, member of the Institut Universitaire de France, and affiliated researcher at IPAG), the partnership was formalized by Dr. Olivier Maillard (CEO & Dean of IPAG Business School) and Mr. Éric Alary (President of the Rendez-vous de l’Histoire).
The partnership is led by Professor Maria Giuseppina Bruna and Mr. Antoine Zenoni (Deputy Director of the Rendez-vous de l’Histoire and Head of the L’Économie aux Rendez-vous de l’Histoire programme).
At the heart of this collaboration, the “L’Économie aux Rendez-vous de l’Histoire” series brings the historical perspective and interdisciplinary approach essential for enriching research in economics and management, helping to better understand contemporary transformations in organizations and society.
This partnership is reflected in IPAG’s contribution to the programme of “L’Économie aux Rendez-vous de l’Histoire” and through the organization of a high-impact panel discussion on 11 October 2026, entitled “Does Capitalism Have a Religion?”. The discussion will be moderated by Professor Maxime Menuet and will feature Professor Maria Giuseppina Bruna as a speaker.

The partnership also takes shape through a long-term commitment to sharing and disseminating the knowledge generated during the Rendez-vous de l’Histoire with students.
Through this partnership, IPAG Business School pursues several objectives that are central to its mission:
Promoting Humanist Values
In line with its status as a non-profit higher education institution holding the EESPIG label, IPAG Business School partners with the Rendez-vous de l’Histoire to advance a shared humanist ambition: to foster open, free, and engaged dialogue across disciplines and fields of expertise in order to disseminate and promote knowledge.
By supporting the Rendez-vous de l’Histoire, and more specifically the “L’Économie aux Rendez-vous de l’Histoire” series, IPAG reaffirms its role as an intellectually engaged institution contributing to society, beyond its core missions in higher education, research, and the business world.
Fostering Dialogue Between Science, Education, Business, and Society
IPAG is committed to opening up management research and extending its impact beyond the academic sphere.
As a scientific partner, the School shares its research with teachers, historians, economists, business leaders, managers, and engaged citizens.
This interdisciplinary dialogue enriches public debate and contributes to civic education on socio-economic and managerial issues.
The partnership between IPAG and the Rendez-vous de l’Histoire, through the “L’Économie aux Rendez-vous de l’Histoire” series, promotes the dissemination of knowledge and enhances learning at both secondary and higher education levels.
Bringing Historical Perspective to Social, Organizational, and Managerial Challenges
IPAG educates future managers who must navigate an era marked by multiple crises and major transitions, including CSR, artificial intelligence, ecological transformation, evolving social inclusion challenges, and profound changes in work, organizations, and management practices.
The “L’Économie aux Rendez-vous de l’Histoire” series provides an essential historical and diachronic perspective for understanding the complex crises and major transitions shaping today's world. Inspired by the principles of the Annales School, the series highlights that economic phenomena cannot be understood in isolation. Complex developments such as digital transformation or sustainable finance must be viewed as interconnected social phenomena, rooted in long-term historical trends and influenced by economic, social, political, and cultural dimensions.
By adopting this comprehensive, interdisciplinary, and historically informed approach, the IPAG/Rendez-vous de l’Histoire partnership encourages a critical perspective that goes beyond short-term thinking and passing trends, enabling a deeper understanding of contemporary organizational transformations.
