Course Structure

The Doctorate of Business Administration is a doctoral programme designed for experienced managers wishing to give momentum to their careers.

In 3 years, the IPAG DBA enables students to undertake extensive in-depth research of a chosen topic and to write a thesis with a supervisor, who is an expert in the area that they choose to research.

The DBA’s syllabus is mixed and includes taught modules, seminars and exchanges across the world, undertaken in Paris, Guangzhou, and Shanghai.


Modules and Seminars

The DBA modules cover the general and cross-disciplinary aspects of intercultural management, entrepreneurship, project management, and CSR. Over 3 years, 600 hours of teaching is undertaken online.


The research topic is entirely up to the student. Whatever the subject, IPAG will find an expert supervisor that will be able to accompany, advise, and answer any questions you may have as well as guide you throughout your research and drafting.


The DBA includes a number of hours dedicated to research workshops. During these, students will meet, share their experience, knowledge, research findings as well as their advice on research methods.

The DBA programme is open to students who have gained a Master’s degree and have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience.

Doctor of Strategic Innovation

The Doctor of Strategic Innovation is a doctoral degree program with an emphasis on strategic innovation which is designed for high-level executives challenged by continual change and hypercompetition. It involves a high-level faculty, which members are all Ph. D. holders with numerous publications.

This programme is a practice-oriented doctoral degree that combines the latest developments to understand how to develop an innovative organization. In addition to the traditional qualitative and quantitative methods, IPAG Business School promotes the writing of case study and any other groundbreaking research methods to leverage the professional experience of the DSI participant.


The format of the Doctor of Strategic Innovation is adapted to the constraint of executives, both on the schedule side and on the content side. Our students can rely on an international research community to empower their research and understand how to benefit from and protect your innovations in this global environment. What internal organizational structure is best to generate innovation? With whom should organizations collaborate to optimize the quality of their innovation and return on investment? What kind of collaboration can help organizations capture value from their innovations?

Doctor in Artificial Intelligence

This Doctorate is a practice-based applied research degree that aims to produce actionable advices and relevant research projects participants. Rather than describing AI technologies such as machine learning, language recognition or IoT, it will analyze the current practices in AI by different companies in different functional departments, such operations, marketing and sales, and in different industries from manufacturing, logistics or retail.

Practical informations

The programme is bilingual, taught in Chinese and English with translation. Course material is provided in both languages.

Duration of this programme: 3 years

11 modules are delivered over 3 years in China during week-end (Saturday and Sunday). These 11 modules include 5 courses and 6 thesis writing workshops that all contribute to guide students throughout the doctoral program until the thesis defense.
