New DBA in Africa: back on the opening ceremony of the IPAG Business School programme
On Thursday the 23rd January 2020, over 30 guests attended the Opening Ceremony of the DBA programme of IPAG Business School in Ghana to welcome the doctoral candidates who were selected to participate to this 3-year doctoral programme. This programme is operated in close collaboration with Nobel International Business School in Ghana.
Dr. Bernard Terrany, IPAG Director for International Relations and Development presided over the Opening Ceremony and delivered a welcome speech. In addition to introducing IPAG business school, he emphasised the importance of life-long learning in today’s everchanging business environment. He encouraged students to become manager-scholars and make contributions to academic knowledge.
Professor Raphaël Lissillour, IPAG DBA program director, encouraged the new participants to develop themselves throughout the doctoral process and introduced the course structure and features to students. He also discussed the importance of engaged management scholarship as a means to produce relevant research with high impact by linking business research with corporate management.
Professor Kwaku Atuahene-Gima, President & Executive Dean, Nobel International Business School (NiBS) underlined the strategic cooperation between IPAG Business School and NiBS. Both partner institutions are engaged in mutual support in the delivery of the program and the supervision of doctoral dissertations.
The 1st DBA doctoral cohort in Africa consisted of 20 men and women and included senior business executives of major multinational corporations from various major industries such as oil and gas, gold mining, and bank. We wish the new promotion every success!
