04 February 2020

The business world is opening up to the international market ever more: French companies are expanding and opening branches abroad and international companies are setting up offices in France. As a student, you are aware of these challenges which require you to have a minimum level of language skills to improve your professional integration after leaving school. Why and above all, how can you follow an English-speaking course in France? We answer them in this article!

Why study in an English-speaking program?

Are you a senior or already have your high school diploma and are you wondering about the need to practice English (the second most spoken language in the world)? Here are a few good reasons to start (if you haven't already done so) to develop these language skills as soon as you enter graduate school:

Building up professional experience

By learning English and being bilingual, trilingual or even more, you can open up to a whole new world, a wide range of opportunities and new career paths abroad: whether it's for an internship in a company, a work-study program or a semester abroad. Afterwards, your international professional integration after leaving school will be all the better for it. In fact, if you wish to potentially take up a position in an international company, whether it is based in France or abroad, you will need to be fluent in at least two languages.

Learning from an international faculty

Studying in an English-speaking program allows you to attend lectures given by internationally renowned professors, some of whom only teach in English in institutions and prestigious business schools. You will benefit from high-quality teaching thanks to the skills of prestigious lecturers and professors from all over the world.

Expanding cultural horizons

You learn and expand your perspectives by learning about and discovering one or more new cultures. Learning English as well as other new languages other than your mother tongue will allow you to open up to ways of life and expressions that were previously totally unknown to you. Practicing English will allow you to make new cultural discoveries, as it is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world.

Learn to speak English fluently

You will be able to learn and improve quickly by practicing the language fluently and consistently. What could be better than practicing it throughout the school year to adopt the right habits?

Regardless of your professional project, whether or not you are interested in an international and English-speaking career, we have a piece of advice for you: learn English because the command of this international language will be very useful to you both on a professional and personal level. If you do not wish to follow an English-language training course, we strongly recommend that you take English courses, especially if learning the language is not part of your current or future program or if the number of hours of classes devoted to this skill seems limited to you.

There are several different teaching titles to learn English according to your personal or professional goals: Business English, Professional English, General English, etc. From pronunciation to oral expression, oral comprehension and written comprehension, many training courses to study English are also offered in different formats: videos, private lessons, group lessons, additional option during your schooling, etc. Finally, one of the most effective methods to learn a language and in particular to progress in English remains through practice and immersion in a foreign country!
