It is possible to work in France after obtaining your IPAG diploma under certain conditions. Foreign students who just obtained a diploma which is, at least, equivalent to a master's degree and who wish, with the aim of subsequently returning to their native country, to complete their training with professional experience in France, may receive provisional authorisation to stay for 6 months. This provisional authorisation is non-renewable. This first profesional experience must participate (directly or indirectly) in the economic development of France and the country of origin of the student.
A residence permit is issued upon expiry of graduate's “student” residence permit. An application must be made in a French prefecture, at the latest 4 months before the date the current "student" residence permit expires.
During the period the temporary residence permit is valid, young graduates are authorised to seek, and when appropriate, to work in a position that is directly connected to the training they received. For their first professional experience, they must receive remuneration, the amount of which must be of at least one and a half times that of the French minimum salary (SMIC) i.e. €2,015.65 gross per month. Depending on their employment situation, young graduates may be authorised to work throughout the territory or in one or more geographical areas.
